Curriculum

Winders Wee Care runs a daily and weekly curriculum. Our daily schedule is meant to provide smooth transitions both during the day as well as a transition from family daycare to a formal school. Children thrive on schedule and while exceptions are made for field trips, etc., the schedule is meant to be a daily design so children know what to expect.

In addition, our learning curriculum has a different theme every week based upon holidays (even the obscure ones!) and seasons. Each day, the children will learn about the subject of the theme, create art based upon the theme, and read stories based on the theme. We even have snacks based on themes when appropriate!

Below you may click on the pictures in order to download .pdf forms of our daily schedule, daily vocabulary (English, ASL, Spanish), menu, theme units and more. When it is time to update the files, you will find a "Coming Soon" icon when you click on the photo. The website is updated at least every other day, so if you find a "Coming Soon" icon, be sure to check back soon to get more information.

While these are not all the books we read during the week, we have listed the theme related books we are reading.

Our weekly themes this month include: Drinking Straw Day, Milk Day, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, National Compliment Day, and Groundhog Day. Because our first couple of weeks are unique, we will be reading many children's favorites based on what they pick out. Other selections this month include:

Martin Luther King, Jr. by Marion Dane Bauer

Rosa Parks: Civil Rights Pioneer by TIME for Kids (this will be an ongoing reading)

The Crayon Box that Talked by Shane DeRolf

We are all alike ... We are all different by Cheltenham Elementary School Kindergartners

Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae

A Day at Greenhill Farm by Sue Nicholson

A Warm Fuzzy Tale by Claude Steiner
