*** Please note that as of January 2012 Winders Wee Care has ceased serving juice to children due to health risks inferred by the arsenic and lead they contain. Organic milk is served with morning snack and purified water is served at other time. In addition, we focus most of our caloric intake on non-meat meals which are minimally or not at all processed including many raw fruits and vegetables which are purchased organic whenever possible. The healthcare system is currently making links between meat, processed foods, and cancer. In order to provide the best possible health for your child, as well as my own, we are providing meals which are consistent with the findings. For more information on the health risks of juice, processed foods, and meat, as well as other hot parenting topics, please visit News That Matters to You Page ***

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are your services tax deductible? Yes, services at Winders Wee Care are tax deductible. You will be provided a statement at the end of the year which you will be required to sign which verifies your service usage here at Winders Wee Care. This provides a form for both you and myself for tax purposes. Please note this courtesy is extended to families who spend more than $600 per child during a single calendar year of care and families who maintain a current account. Families who spend less than $600 or who are delinquent in payment are generally not extended this courtesy.

Do you accept Title XX?
I do not accept Title 20. I prefer to maintain control over the families I work with. Accepting Title 20 voids my ability to refuse services for any reason including illness or negative behaviors.

What should I and my child expect?
You should expect to be outside as much as possible and to get dirty either outside or while completing art projects. During the summer you can expect to get wet in the sprinkler on hot days. At Winders Wee Care you bring them clean, they get dirty, and they are sent home as clean as possible (even if this means laundering your child's clothing every day they are here). We have a lot of fun here but you will not find that fun in front of a TV. Television is not permitted at all between 9 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday which is considered our normal business hours.

You can expect good manners will be stressed. Negative behaviors are not rewarded. Each child will have it explained to them why their choices may affect them in a negative way and they will be allowed to make their own choices. For instance, if a child displays negative behavior and a sweet treat (a rare thing since we abide by USDA guidelines) is planned later, the child will be given a healthy treat as the other children who behaved positively will receive the sweet treat as a positive experience.

Most often children adapt quickly to the requirements of using good manners and being a good friend to others as well as our daily schedule full of education and fun. When a child does not adapt we discuss the options with the families and seek the best resolution for the child/children.

What if I do not agree with the requirements of the contract and handbook?
The contract  and handbook have been created to inform parents of all policies and procedures. Policies and procedures change and are updated as necessary to meet the changing needs of those we service. When a contract and/or handbook is revised, it needs to be signed by parents as soon as possible. Families are given a period of two weeks after the new contract and/or handbook is delivered to sign and return the contract in order to continue services. Families who do not agree with the policies and procedures will be happiest if they seek care elsewhere.

Why do I need to pay two weeks up front?
First, it is important to understand you do not lose this money. This fee is used when you submit your two weeks notice to end services. This two week payment is used to cover those last two weeks. This will allow you to collect for your deposit on school fees, etc. as they transfer into a standard K+ school or to other services. The payment schedule includes paying for two weeks of service initially to cover the first week of service and 1 of the last two weeks. The second of the final 2 weeks is then divided up in the first month's payments. This policy has been put in place to provide pay while the provider seeks replacement clients. In special cases this fee may be waived.  Drop-in, hourly, and other non-contracted clients are not required to pay this two week fee.

I want to enroll one child now and my unborn child later. What is the cost to hold the spot? Winders Wee Care rarely has more than 1 full-time opening and many enrolled children are part-time. As long as there is only 1 spot we are seeking to fill but can fill another (yes, this happens because we prefer a 5:1 ratio instead of the average 6:1, 8:1, or even 12:1) we will not charge you anything to hold the remaining spot. It will remain open until you need it!

What if I want to take a vacation or my child is sick? Each child has 10 personal days which families can use at their discretion in which only half-pay is required. Although they are rarely used, the provider also has 10 personal days to use.

What holidays are you closed for? Do I still have to pay for those days? Winders Wee Care has 5 paid-off holidays which are Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. The personal days I take due to vacation are planned at the start of each new year when possible.
